| General Terms and Conditions |
| Common Trade Practice and Acts and Laws where a purchase takes place shall be followed by both the customers and the distributors. Typically this means that the laws at the buyer's own location shall govern should a dispute on the the purchase occur. In this regard, online shopping makes no difference to buying from a street shop near you. As eCommerce gains its popularity, governments and banks all have well-defined rules on consumer protections. |
| As a guidance, the following is a list of terms and conditions that are OUR standard practices and proceedures in this industry. |
- Core Returns:
Definition: The term "Core" in the starter and alternator industry is simply referring to the old/used unit that is being replaced. Many of our manufacturers recycle some of the materials to reduce waste. A core deposit amount is attached to selected units that are needed for recycling, this helps insure the customer returns the needed goods.
Cores must be returned:
A. Unbroken - no broken housings
B. Assembled - units must not be taken apart
C. Complete - no missing solenoids, gears or other components.
D. No excessive corrosion - Units eaten up with rust or corrosion cannot be rebuilt. Please send photo of unit if you are unsure of core eligibility.
E. Returned within 6 months - We cannot keep track of core credits past 6 months, however please contact us, we work with all our customers.
PLEASE BE AWARE: Broken housings will result in 50% core credit. Missing components and unassembled or broken cores will be credited at our discretion. Cores with excessive corrosion due to rust or saltwater are not returnable cores, this is due to the fact that corroded housings cannot be reused for rebuilding units. If you have any questions about cores feel free to e-mail us some pictures of it for evaluation.
- Notice of North Carolina state tax: Mid Atlantic Distributors collects applicable sales/use tax on merchandise in the state of North Carolina. In other states, you are responsible for remitting any applicable sales/use tax on merchandise directly to the appropriate state. We do not collect tax on merchandise sold outside North Carolina.
- Accuracy: All information in this site is provided to our best ability or maintained by participating vendors and data sources. However, in case of error Customer shall indemnify and hold harmless
against any and all claims, demands, actions, suits, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including without limitation reasonable attorneys' fees, costs and expenses relating to your use of our services.
- Price: Due to the dynamic nature of the market and our services, prices are subject to change with out prior notice. In case of discrepancies between the posted and then the current prices,
requires the respective vendors to inform Customer prior to processing the charges.
- Damage: In case of damages to packages revceived, Please make damage claims directly to the carrier for merchandise shipped via www.dhl.com or www.ups.com .
- Payment: All product must be paid in full prior to shipping. Our preferred method is by credit card, however we also accept money orders. Product paid for by credit card or money order will be shipped the same day payment is received
Mon-Fri, orders after 3pm (EST) are shipped the following business day. Please notify us prior to mailing any
money orders, we must check our stock to verify availability.

Warranty: (Returns Authorization Request Form is below) All units are guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship upon initial installation. Warranty is limited to the replacement of or credit for the defective unit, no incidental or consequential damages will be considered. All alleged defective units must be returned to be evaluated by our quality control department to validate warranty claim. Warranty claims will be settled within 48 hours (Mon-Fri) of our receiving the returned product. Please see additional Alternator and Starter Warranty information following.
Alternator Issues
"Burnt" or overdrawn alternators are NOT defective. If you fail to charge your battery prior to use, pull to much amp draw, or overwork the alternator charging a bad battery the unit will over heat and burn out. This is not the fault of the unit, this is abuse and will not be considered defective.
Starter Issues
"Chewed" gears on a starter is NOT the fault of the unit, this is due to improper installation or bad ignition switch that causes the starter to stay engaged after the engine cranks, thus eating or chewing up the gear. No "chewed" starters will be accepted for warrantee credit.
Attention- Certain engines, especially diesels, may "rock back" if the engine doesn't crank properly. When the engine rocks back the flywheel sometimes engages the spinning starter in reverse, thus slamming the drive INTO the starter with excessive force. Blown starters due to rock backs are not considered for warrantee credit. This "rock back" can be attributed to a worn cam shaft. |

- Your password will not be revealed even if you forgot and requested the login information be sent via email. We will send you a temporary one instead. Your bank / credit card details will not be revealed to even yourself though you can update the information on your account.
- Only the distributor(s) from whom you buy the products will have access to your payment information over an SSL protected connection to our server. Every participating vendor is required to follow strict commercial laws in handling the information.
- All relevant privacy laws are strictly followed. In particular, none of your personal data will ever be used outside the scope of the commercial operation of our business.
- No promotion emails will ever be sent to you unless you opted for it. You can opt out at any time by updating your account information.
